Cutting edge golf brand Hazard, celebrated for lighting up South Africa’s fairways with its cutting edge range of cool, colourful golf gear, announced today that Stormers and Springbok wing, and former IRB World Rugby Player of the Year, Bryan Habana, has joined the brand as the face of Hazard’s range of Stormers shorts and trousers.
Officially licensed by Western Province Rugby, the first range of familiar blue and white stripes is already in stores and selling well across South Africa, with the Stormers themselves embracing the brand by wearing the new Hazards at their recent supporters golf day.
The signing of Habana as the face of the new range, however, takes Hazard’s latest offering to a new level, and allows Stormers supporters to add the ultimate fan product to their golfing wardrobe.
“Having Bryan join the team is an enormous coup for Hazard, and we’re extremely proud to have a genuine South African superstar on board,” Hazard CEO Dan Nicholl said of his brand’s big signing. “Bryan’s made an enormous impact on rugby fans in the Cape in a relatively short space of time, and the enthusiasm with which he responded to our new product makes him the ideal ambassador for a very exciting addition to the Hazard Golf range.”
“I’m very excited to have joined up with Hazard in a partnership which will hopefully expand far beyond the golf course,” Habana said from Perth, where he is preparing for this weekend’s Castle Championship clash with the Wallabies.
With trousers retailing at R595 a pair, and shorts at R495, the new Hazards are competitively priced, and offer fans a chance to sport their team’s colours on the course. But it’s not just Stormers fans who’ll have that opportunity: Hazard has also brought out Bulls, Sharks and Springboks shorts and trousers, all available at the same price.
“We are in exciting discussions with potential ambassadors for the Bulls and
Sharks, and hope to make announcements shortly,” Nicholl revealed. “But for now
we’re celebrating a very exciting moment, and look forward to the brand surging
forward with the help of the fastest man in world rugby!”
